- Road Run Street Art Festival – 29 & 30 June, 10am – 6pm. Navigator Square, N19 3TD (by Archway Tube)
Part funded by Islington Giving’s Make it Happen fund, the Road Run Street Art Festival invites you to an exciting weekend of live art! Contribute to the public mural and enjoy free activities and entertainment for the whole family.
- Islington Faces Celebration Event – 15 July, 6-8pm. Islington Ecology Centre, 191 Drayton Park, N5 1PH (just by Arsenal tube)
Celebrate the publication of 365+ interviews on www.islingtonfacesblog.com at the Islington Faces Celebration Event. Enjoy chat, mocktails, snacks, and performances from special guests, including the Mayor, Cllr Anjna Khurana. They’ll also be returning photo portraits from our Inspiring Islington exhibition. - Angel Shed Theatre 20th Anniversary Gala – 11 July, 7pm, Union Chapel, 19b Compton Terrace, London N1 2UN
Join the celebration at Union Chapel and enjoy performances by Angel Shed’s Children’s Theatre, Youth Theatre 1, Youth Theatre 2, Dance Company and Music Collective will all be performing - alongside special guests! Funded through Cripplegate Foundation main grants and Islington Giving Disability fund.
- Pick and Pickle at Culpepper Community Gardens – 10 & 11 July,
Join us on 10th and 11th July for community events to learn the art of pickling and preserving. Discover the benefits of ferments and fostering good gut bacteria while reducing waste and extending the life of your veggies and herbs.
- The Clocktower Festival – 4 August, 12-6pm, Caledonian Park, Market Road N7 9LP
Organized by The Clocktower Residents Group Committee and Caledonian Park Friends Group, enjoy live music, a climbing wall, bouncy castle, food & drink, arts & crafts, and more! Free entry for all. Arts and Crafts funded by the Make it Happen Fund.
- Islington Festival, 5 – 20 July, across Islington
Join this year’s Festival, inspired by “The Homeland,” where we explore composers’ deep connections to their roots. The 2024 Festival will journey from India to Scotland with “Postcards from Home,” from Australia to America with “Towards the New World,” and to Italy with “Viva Verdi,” among others. Enjoy events at familiar venues and new spots, including The Green in Clerkenwell for a “Coffee Concert with Haydn” and the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration for a “Walking Concert through the Angel.” Tickets are now on sale, with great deals and free tickets for young people up to age 25.
- The Cally Festival, 7 July, 12-6pm, Caledonian Road, Islington
The Cally Festival is a free event for the whole community. Expect music, performance, art, activities, creative workshops, and a street market of delicious food to eat and brilliant things to buy. There are also a number of exciting arts projects that take place in the lead up to the festival, pulling together local arts organisations, residents and businesses.
