The Young Grant Makers programme is part of Islington Giving’s ongoing work to shift power into the hands of local people.
Young Grant Makers gives young people the opportunity to actively shape youth services and activities in the borough.
For 2025, we plan to build on the programme’s success by pairing each Young Grant Maker with an inspiring mentor from a corporate sector partner, working with The BIG Alliance to facilitate.
The programme will:
- Put £120,000 of funding directly into the hands of young residents, empowering them to have a tangible impact on their community
- Educate and inspire young people about the varied employment opportunities on their doorstep.
Since 2018, Young Grant Makers have distributed over £550,000 of funding for projects supporting young people in Islington. Mentoring Works has celebrated over 1,000 students mentored since starting in Islington.
