Meet our small and passionate team at Islington Giving.
Chief Executive
Sarah has been the Chief Executive of Cripplegate Foundation and Islington Giving since September 2019 and oversees all aspects of the organisation, internally and externally. She previously worked as a civil servant focusing on community related policy and worked for many years setting up and running voluntary and community sector projects and organisations.
Director of Finance and Resources
Jenny joined Cripplegate as Director of Finance and Resources in May 2024. She has worked in similar roles across a variety of local, national and international charities over more than a decade, and has an MSc in Voluntary Sector management
Finance & Resources Officer
Azar started at Cripplegate in March 2023 as Finance and resource officer; she is an ACCA qualified accountant with over a decade of experience working in community -based non-profit organisations.
She’s committed to promoting fairness, inclusivity, equality, and diversity in all that she does, and take an empathetic, strength-based approach to working with others.
Programme Director
Anne joined Islington Giving & Cripplegate Foundation in 2019. She oversees the operation and development of the Foundation’s programmes as well as Islington Giving’s strands of grant-making. Anne leads on key networking and partnership initiatives with Islington Council, housing providers and youth organisations.
Director of Development and Communications
Lisa joined Cripplegate Foundation and Islington Giving as Director of Fundraising & Communications in April 2021. She is responsible for all aspects of fundraising and communications and loves building new partnerships that create a greater sense of community across Islington.
Programme Manager
Patrick joined the Foundation in 2015. He oversees the Islington Council Community Chest grants programme as well as a number of the Foundation’s main grants relationships. Patrick also supports Islington Giving’s grants programme including leading on the development of Islington Giving’s Mental Health Challenge Fund.
Programme Manager
Victor has worked in the voluntary and community sector for more than 15 years and joined the Foundation in September 2020. His role sits within the programme team and oversees the RSS and strands of Islington Giving grant-making programme.
Office Manager
Jess started at Cripplegate in October 2022 as Office Manager. She has previously worked with mental health and homeless charities as well as being a qualified hypnotherapist. She’s always keen to lend a helping hand to anyone that needs it. Jess was born and raised in Islington and feels very passionately about helping the borough. She loves long walks, spending time in nature and exploring new restaurants to eat in.
Fundraising & Communications Manager
Isy started at Cripplegate and Islington Giving in October 2022 from a fundraising role at a place-based children’s charity in west London. She works with the Fundraising and Communications team on our individual giving, local business partnerships and campaigns. Isy loves books, getting out in nature and summer music festivals!
Digital Communications Manager
Tam joined Islington Giving in January 2022. She is part of the communications and development team and manages the digital side of things.
Make it Happen Coordinator
Sarah joined Islington Giving in May 2024 as the Make It Happen Fund Coordinator. The aim of the fund is to enable Islington residents to ‘make happen’ a small community project of their choice, based on their lived experience and the needs of their local community.
