17-24? Live in Islington? Want to have real power to make change in your local community? Become a Young Grant-Maker!
The Islington Giving Young Grant Makers programme is an exciting opportunity for a group of young people in Islington to come together to have real power to shape their local community.
Young Grant Makers is a 5-month programme that gives young people living in Islington the power to choose how money is spent on youth activities in their local area. The Young Grant Makers are in charge of a pot of money, and they make all the decisions about what activities and support for young people they want to fund.
“It’s an amazing and really fun opportunity where you can make friends and make a real difference. It’s such a rewarding feeling!” 2020 Young Grant Maker
Young Grant Makers don’t need to have any previous similar experience. They just need ideas about their local community and want to help change it for the better.
This is a paid opportunity. Young Grant Makers receive training and support to build their skills as they make the funding decisions as a team – around teamwork, communication and leadership.
