We’re delighted to share a new learning report exploring the collective impact of the Place-Based Giving movement over the past 16 years.
What began with Islington Giving in 2010 has grown into a network of 27 Place-Based Giving schemes across London, Bedford and Manchester. Together, residents, funders, businesses, voluntary organisations and public bodies have found new ways to work together to strengthen the places and communities they care about.
Over the past 16 years, the movement has raised more than £92 million and created new opportunities for communities, funders and local partners to shape change together.
The challenges communities face are complex and interconnected. The report comes at a time of renewed interest in community power, participation and local decision-making. It captures some of what we’ve learned along the way and the potential of working collectively to create lasting meaningful change.
We hope it will inspire more communities, funders, businesses and public bodies to work together in new ways, building stronger places where people feel connected and able to shape the future of their community.
