With local social value increasingly important in all aspects of business planning, procurement and project delivery – and with community needs continuing to grow locally – cross‑sector collaboration has never been more important. Supported by Clarion, Peabody, RED Construction and other partners, the Make it Happen Fund supports residents to develop community projects and ideas – strengthening social value outcomes locally and creating tangible impact for the community.
Each year, around 70 projects, led by residents and grassroots community groups, receive funding £500 of funding to bring their idea, event or pilot programme to life. So far, projects have included:
- Public murals
- Community gardening
- Street parties
- Paddleboarding
- Christmas Day meals
- Men’s mental health meet ups
- LGBTQ+ life drawing
- And so much more…!
