Lumpy Hill Playground is a great place for children in Islington and from other areas to go and really let loose and have fun!
The park managers (Islington Play Association) were looking for some volunteers to help make the park even safer for children, some as young as 6, so the BIG Alliance kindly put together a day where many of us in the office could attend and do some work.
Among other things we placed wood chips around the equipment, so that the children have soft ground beneath them, as well as to give the playground a much needed tidy up.

We had teams to tackle each obstacle as we were all a bit old to take on the actual obstacles of the playground apparatus, but with teamwork, we managed to paint up walls, cut grass down, remove painful stinging nettles, weeds, and excess plants from the grounds.
My favourite part was the ice lollies after all the shovelling and spreading of the wood chips and then seeing a post on my cousin on Snapchat, in which she held her son on his birthday in the park after the much-needed transformation!
