Mike lives with epilepsy and the lasting effects of a stroke and brain tumour, which means he has very limited mobility and needs full-time care.
Some days are harder than others, particularly after a seizure when he becomes very tired and withdrawn. Over the years, life has become carefully structured around his needs, routines, and moments of stability.
Memory Café has become one of those steady anchors. A place they return to again and again. Nicki, Mike’s carer, who has been with him for over 10 years, says:
“We have been coming to Memory Café for many years and both enjoy the weekly quiz and singing. We also love the tea and homemade cakes!
Although Mike has very limited memory, he has remembered the words to many of the songs and the yoga moves.
We just wish we had the Memory Café every day!”
